Publisher's summary

Being a noble is not something Sean ever wanted, but life just propelled him along noble paths. First, he was an Aspirant, then a Knight, and finally, he had become a Lord. In the end, he stopped fighting it, realizing that he would need the social status to keep his promise to Myna and avenge the deaths at Oakwood.

Leaving Hearthglen behind, the family moved to the center of Queendom, the city of Accord. As the most important city in the Queendom, Accord had been Shaped from the ground up around the central tree that towered above every other structure in the city. The gigantic tree housed all of the city functions, and was the first project the Queens had undertaken on this world.

Sean and his family began to build the allies they could, knowing that Accord would see them dealing with more politics. Hallie set out to make allies with the lesser nobles—with the help of Dame Daria Iceblood—leaving Sean free to focus on his new healing clinic. After all, healing could give him the chance to win more people over.

Little did they know that the one they sought to undermine, Lord Truestrike, was already making strides toward his own plans. Soon, Accord would bear witness to two nobles vying to pull each other down…though hopefully without invoking the ire of the Advisor.

Great story and performance

All of the nine books in the series so far have been excellent. This one I would put in the top three.

If you haven’t started listening to the series, just start, it will be well worth your time and you will walk away from each book in awe of both the story and the performance.
Thank you Andrea for your many many voices and the talent you show.

as expected

this deep in a series, there's not much that can deter you from getting it, so here's the relevant information,
it feels like the same series
it doesn't go off the rails
Andrea is still one of the greatest narrators this listener has had the pleasure of listening to

First 5 star! Best one since book 1

Sean is far less whiny in this one and the author has found the same stride that I found in the “Aethers Revival” series. LOVED this one almost as much as book 1. I’m starting to get sad that I’m about to run out of books

so freaking good

are you kidding me? so freaking good. seriously this is an easy recommend for me. I can't imagine anybody reading my review who isn't either deeply embedded in the story or has just lucked upon one of the most entertaining feel good stories around at least in my opinion. you can probably tell that I'm a fan and will definitely be here till the end of the series. we've got a lot of build up to what should be an explosive enemy to the evil true strike. I'm still hopeful that before the series is over we're going to get a gaggle of blood hearts on motorcycles. Sean's not really hiding a whole lot of what he can do in this one. as I understand it we should be getting a book 10 this year for sure and maybe a book 11 around the end of the year. my other favorite from this author is aether's guard and as such if you haven't gotten into that series I highly recommend you do. the lady narrator has delivered another phenomenal performance. you do get some of the awesome bloopers at the end of this audiobook. lastly I just want to say thank you so very much to everybody who had a hand and bringing this story to us, the audiobook listeners.
