Publisher's summary

A strange cry for help distracts Daniel from his boring study session. Curiosity gets the better of him, and he is thrust through a portal where he emerges into a fantasy world of myth, magic, dragons and war.

His arrival grants him a special opportunity. After stumbling upon a dying dragon, he discovers an egg that is about to hatch. Daniel knows a grand adventure awaits him, and he seizes the moment to become a dragon rider.

Fame, fortune, lust, and glory await Daniel. But they come at a steep cost. Dark forces are gathering, and they want Daniel dead.

But Daniel is not alone. The Wild Dragon Rider will be joined by his Firebound—an assortment of lovely female dragon riders who can help Daniel turn the tide of the war. Assuming he survives long enough to make a difference!

Pretty good.

The pacing was good; if a tad bit slow, but I didn’t find myself bored at any point in the story. Both narrator’s did a good job, though there were a few parts that I’m pretty sure were supposed to be read by the other narrator… overall a solid story, definitely worth the read.

What an awesome new series

Definitely a worth while read, dragons are always a good start in a story but this one seem like it has all the elements of an epic fantasy aswell, political intrigue, an evil nation of dark elves and epic magic.

Good story, good narration

The story started a little slow, but it quickly blossomed into a nice adventure story. There was a good amount of progression in an easy way to understand, especially listening to it in an audio format. The narrators did a nice job and they conveyed real emotion to the characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Better than I expected.

Earth college guy gets transported to another world from his college library by a book he was reading and becomes a dragon rider of legend. Entering his new world into chaos.
But he's got his new dragon buddy with him and they add a few beautiful women to their little circle, among others.
Awesome story
I'm giving this book 8 out of 5 stars.

Fast paced and a bit chaotic.

I enjoyed the story for the most part. However, I did have problems keeping drawn in.
The world building is done pretty well and it’s simple to figure out the geopolitical landscape. I wish there was more depth in the academy aspects of the story. But this is one of those books where the possible “end of the world as we know it,” pushes the characters and overall story forward rapidly.
The magic system is alright, it’s not deep at all. The litrpg aspect is even lighter.
Not sure if I will want to get the sequel personally.

Kinda had a Eragon feel to it

The first part of the book was a little hard to get through but leaving the school was the best part of the series. Im hoping the next one keeps to the same pace.
